Otis Fredrick (Fred) Reisch of Port Orchard Jan. 28, 1920 to Nov. 19, 2009 Veteran
Otis Fredrick (Fred) Reisch, age 89, died at his home November 19, 2009 with his wife by his side.
Fred was bom January 28, 1920 to Grace Leona (Brown) Reisch and John Franklin Reisch in Augusta, Kansas. The family moved to Sherwood, Oregon, when Fred was 17.
After graduation, Fred joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Natrona as a Radioman first class from 1941 to 1945 in the Asiatic and Pacific Fleets. He was called back to active duty in 1951 from the Naval Reserve for duty in Tokyo, Japan. When the war was over Fred resumed his career working as Benefits Supervisor for Employment Security. After 25 years of service he retired in 1970.
Survivors include his wife Edna (Ann) Reisch, stepson Bob Wiltermood and a brother Loy Reisch of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Six brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Fred loved activities like traveling in his motor home, hiking, dancing, ham radio, building projects and working around his Ruby Creek Wildlife Preserve. He was a member of the Bremerton Elks and the AFSCME Retirees.
There will be a "Celebration of Fred's Life" at his home Saturday December 5th at 2 p.m.
